Comparison in tourism growth
From WEAR Channel 3 in Pensacola:
More people are visiting the state of Alabama... especially Baldwin County. The latest tourism report shows tourism and travel up three percent last year. More than 22 million people traveled to Alabama. In 2008 tourists spent nearly $9.6 billion in the state. Officials say this is the second year in a row Alabama tourism has been on the rise. In Florida just the opposite was true for 2008. Tourism in the Sunshine State dropped off by 2.8 percent. Alabama Tourism Up, Florida Down.
