Welcome to Bayfest
August 8, 2011
The Rock emeritus of BayFest, 3 Doors Down returns this year for another blockbuster performance on the Pepsi Stage in downtown Mobile. 3 Doors Down recently released their fifth studio album, "Time of My Life," and it’s already topping U.S. charts. Hailing from nearby Escatawpa, Mississippi, the band's albums have gone platinum an amazing 11 times, taking their soulful Southern rock revival to the entire globe. Performing at BayFest multiple times, the group's 16-year history has made them a local legend. Fans are hard-pressed not to sing along with "Kryptonite," "Be Like That" and "Here Without You."
Neighbors to the north, Vancouver-based Theory of a Deadman have infiltrated America with their propelling guitar riffs and hard-hitting lyrics. Just off the release of their newest album, "The Truth Is…," the band is taking the signature sound from their three previous albums and continuing forward with experimental sounds and even racier lyrics. The band’s breakout smash hit, "Bad Girlfriend," pegged the charts for an astonishing 14 weeks--proof their "rock theory" works.
Oklahoma bad boys Hinder are back for BayFest 2011, bringing their signature sour-and-sweet songs to Mobile. From their rowdy debut single "Get Stoned" to their soulful ballad "Lips of an Angel," Hinder has been pleasing crowds around the world. Last year’s "All American Nightmare" has singles already on the U.S. rock charts, and fans will instantly connect with the Southern-Rock inspired anthem--not to mention the catchy tracks from it's previous albums.
Mobile band Top of the Orange returns once again, bringing their local-inspired rock sound to BayFest's stages. A crowd-pleaser and local favorite, Top of the Orange has been playing the Gulf Coast for years. With catchy tunes "Who Turned Off the Sun" and "Let Me In," Top of the Orange garners new fans wherever they play. Top of the Orange recently opened for Poison at The Amphitheater at The Wharf and has toured with stellar acts like 3 Doors Down, Staind, Shinedown, and Theory of a Deadman.
