At Souvenir City
in Gulf Shores, a
50-foot shark marks the entrance to a
Pleasure Island landmark that's been around in
some form since 1947. The original building was
destroyed by
fire in 1996, and rebuilt in 1997.

Souvenir City, one of several local retailers
that stock the practical (swim wear, beach towels) for
your stay here, as well as the camp (cheap souvenirs)
for all those friends back home). You also may want
to checkout the beach sandals or deck shoes at one of
the Sand Dollar Shoes locations on the Island or look
for tee shirts at Wings or Waves, just two of the many
local stores that offer casual beach clothes. Perhaps
Fish House Antiques in Gulf Shores will catch your eye
or the handcrafted works of art at the Pottery Center.
